Document Recovery in a Business Process using Activity Dependency
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper focuses on the problem of bringing a business process document to a consistent state after exceptional occurrences. Although many traditional recovery methods can support exception handling, they are mainly concerned with process backtracking, forward stepping, and compensation. However, prior to the use of recovery algorithms, it is essential to find a rollback activity for organizations that aim to reduce their costs and increase their revenues. In this paper, two aspects of this issue were addressed: an algorithm that considers the inverse relationship between reparability and reactivity in finding a rollback activity, and a document recovery mechanism that recovers a document to a consistent version. A prototype system was implemented. Simulation results generated in an analysis of the various decision weight parameters showed that our mechanism can support different rollback activity decisions and document recovery strategies.

متن کاملAnalyzing Business Continuity through a Multi-layers Model
Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a process to manage risks, emergencies, and recovery plans of an organization during a crisis. It results in a document called Business Continuity Plans (BCP) that specifies the methodology and procedures required to backup and recover the functional unit of a disrupted business. Traditionally, the BCP assessment is based only on the continuity of IS infr...

This paper presents a process dependency model for dynamically analyzing data dependencies among concurrently executing processes in an autonomous, distributed service composition environment. Data dependencies are derived from incremental data changes captured at each service execution site. Deltas are then used within a rule-based recovery model to specify how failure recovery of one process ...

Texture and color appearance of froth is a discreet qualitative tool for evaluating the performance of flotation process. The structure of a froth developed on the flotation cell has a significant effect on the grade and recovery of copper concentrate. In this work, image analysis and neural networks have been implemented to model and control the performance of such a system. The result reveals...
